The Women's Global Event & The North Ark Open Preview - May 7th, 2014
With the premier GBO stop in Emporia, KS and the Dogwood Open (a southern favorite) tucked away in the memories of many, it is time to focus on two local events that are approaching quickly. Adam and Christine West and Shayn Woltz are getting ready to host the first ever Women's Global Event this Saturday, May 10th at Grubaugh Park, in Ozark, MO. This is the first event of it's kind and like the title says it will be held globally. This is a great time to bring out all the females that you know that normally play casually and the ones who compete regularly. I believe the goal of this event is to promote and get more ladies involved in the sport. The fee is only $25. There will be a players pack, lots of prizes including 2 Discatcher Sport Baskets, and much more. In addition to the other winnings, the best score posted by the top lady will win a free entry into the North Ark Open. I do not know all the sponsors, but Journey Post, K&S Coins, and Disc Golf Monkey are for sure in. I'm sure no sponsorships or prizes will be turned down between now and Saturday so if you have anything to contribute get a hold of any of the above mentioned! Thanks to all of you who have helped make this event happen!
The North Ark Open is only one week following the Women's Global Event (May 17th). The Harrison Convention and Visitors Bureau has welcomed us once again by helping fund another North Ark Open. If you have not played this course, I am sure you will love it. The North Ark Course offers a variety of shots and a mix of holes that will challenge all level of golfers. The players packs have been ordered from Innova Champion Discs and the Journey Post. There will be a BYO partner Flex start doubles with $100 added to the pay out. This will be a great time to practice the course and possibly win your entry into the tournament. There will be a nice EDGE Raffle with Innova, Keen, EDGE, and Trilogy stuff up for grabs. This should be an awesome tournament!
Help spread the word about both these events. See you in Ozark and Harrison!!
